HYGIENE AND SANITATION - Beach Cleaning Drive at Mattu Beach

The Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences & Niramaya College of Nursing, in association with the Youth Red Cross, Student Nurses Association, and Lions Club Katapadi, organized a successful Beach Cleaning Day at Mattu Beach with the goal of raising hygiene and sanitation awareness and promoting eco-friendly practices within the community.

A total of 53 enthusiastic students from the institute participated in the large-scale cleaning initiative, showcasing their dedication to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. The volunteers, equipped with gloves and garbage bags, began work early in the morning, clearing plastic waste, bottles, wrappers, fishing nets, and other non-biodegradable materials littering the   Distinguished guests from the Lions Club, including President Ln Prakash Poojary, Zone Chairperson Ln Roshan D'Silva, and member Ln Jagadish Kamath, graced the occasion. Principals Mr. Shivashankar B. Pai and Ms. Roshani Rodrigues of the Niraamaya Institute, along with teaching and non-teaching staff, were also present, lending their support to the student-led effort.

The event proceedings were anchored by Ms. Vinisha, who served as the master of ceremony. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by student Likith, acknowledging everyone who contributed to the event's success. Refreshments for all participants were generously arranged by the Lions Club Katapadi.
