The International Day of Yoga was celebrated with great enthusiasm and dedication on 20th June 2025 at Niramaya Institute of Health Sciences. The event aimed to promote awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being among students and staff.

The celebration was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Mr. B. Shivashankar Pai, Principal of Niramaya College of Allied Health Sciences; Mrs. Roshani Rodrigues, Principal of Niramaya College of Nursing; and Ms. Manjula S. Nayak, Administrative Officer. Their presence and encouragement motivated participants and reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting health, discipline, and wellness.

The programme began with a warm welcome to all participants. The yoga session was facilitated by Mrs. Loretta Venna D. Silva, a faculty member of Niramaya College of Nursing, who conducted the activities with great enthusiasm and encouraged students to incorporate wellness practices into their daily lives.

Participants were guided through the Common Yoga Protocol, which included basic asanas, stretching exercises, pranayama, and short meditation techniques. The session focused on improving flexibility, balance, breath control, and inner awareness.

The event provided a refreshing break from the regular academic schedule and helped promote fitness, concentration, and stress management among participants. Students and staff actively engaged in the session and shared positive feedback, expressing interest in having more such wellness activities in the future.

The Yoga Day celebration successfully raised awareness about the benefits of yoga and encouraged participants to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It contributed to enhancing both physical fitness and mental well-being within the college community.
